OUR MINISTRIES

Community service

At Canon Davis, we are always striving to love our neighbours, not only through the gift of our financial support for mission and ministry, but by more hands-on volunteer work. Each Christmas for the past few years, Canon Davis volunteers have provided a hot Christmas dinner for students at London Road Public School.

Some of the proceeds of our fund-raising dinners and teas go to a variety of worthwhile projects - local, national and international. Donations from coffee hour go to the Inn of the Good Shepherd for its work in feeding the poor and homeless.

Our efforts support ....

Music

We have a very active choir with a talented music director. We welcome new members!

Baptism

Baptism is how we welcome people into the church, the family of believers in Jesus Christ. The Anglican Church welcomes those interested in receiving baptism, whether as children or adults. Those interested in talking about baptism should contact the church office at 519-344-9531 or email canondavis@gmail.com

Marriage

Marriage is both a civil and religious ceremony, which can both take place at the same time in a beautiful service at Canon Davis Memorial Church. We provide an ideal setting for a traditional wedding with our intimate space and outstanding stained glass windows. You will find the Anglican service of marriage rich and awesome. We have a pipe organ and our music director is available to play at weddings. Please contact the church office at 519-344-9531 or email canondavis@gmail.com

We recommend all couples seeking marriage take part in marriage preparation courses in addition to meetings with the clergy.

Pastoral Care

As a Christian community, we are committed to caring for the sick and the elderly. This is a ministry for both the clergy and laity. We have a caring pastoral care team which can identify the needs and respond accordingly. Clergy and Lay readers/visitors are available on request to provide home communion and a friendly visit. Clergy provide emergency pastoral care.

Funeral

Funerals are a vital part of the grieving process. We mourn the loss of a loved one and celebrate their lives. The beauty of the church and the Anglican tradition of worship and music mean we can offer a meaningful and fitting memorial or funeral service.
